This weekend may be the biggest weekend of the year in Bollywood with the release of Don and Jaan-E-Mann. With the critics, the Shahrukh Khan remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan hit Don has a slight edge over Jaan-E-Mann as Don has a 58% over Jaan-E-Mann's 57%. Both those numbers are likely to change over the weekend as more reviews come in.

As of this writing, Don has 18 reviews counted, with 13 positive reviews and 5 negative. The general consensus seems to be that the film is very technically appealing, however falters in pacing and character development. While the reviews aren't exactly negative, this film isn't the classic that the original is.

Meanwhile Jaan-E-Mann currently has 13 reviews counted, with 8 being positive and 5 being negative. The performances of the principal cast have been praised, however the typical love triangle story line has been criticized. However, the public seems to have had more praise for Jaan-E-Mann than for Don.

I was surprised with both films as I expected both to have ratings of at least 60% (which qualifies it as 'Good'). Particularly Don, which already has an established story line, director and superstar Shahrukh Khan at the front.
