Led by Lage Raho Munnabhai (which remains the best reviewed Bollywood film of the last two years with an 81%), Dor, Khosla Ka Ghosla and Woh Lamhe have managed to make the top 10 reviewed films of the year. Dor is the third best reviewed films of the year at a 70%, Khosla Ka Ghosla is the sixth with 65% and Woh Lamhe is the ninth with 63%. With 51 reviews tallied, not even one is negative, the first time that has happened with a major release. As a matter of fact, the worst review is from the UK Times Online, and it is still 3 stars our ot five, which is good.
The public has agreed with the critics as the film is already a monster hit (a blockbuster in Mumbai) and is on its way to becoming a blockbuster all over India. According to BoxOfficeIndia, the film has taken in 55 crore net already and with the tax free status it attained, the film has good chances to cross the 70 crore net record of Gadar. Look for Lage Raho Munnabhai to emerge as the biggest hit of 2006.
Munnabhai joins Rang De Basanti, Krrish and Fanaa as the other superhits of the year. With Don, Jaan-E-Mann and Dhoom 2 releasing soon, 2006 is looking to be the best year for Bollywood in a long time!
