The much anticipated Dhoom 2 opened today to record breaking box office and favorable reviews from critics. We currently have 16 reviews for Dhoom 2, out of which 14 are positive. It is currently at a 64% which is good, and even more impressive considering even the best action movies usually garner mixed reviews. Thus far, Dhoom 2 is the best reviewed major release since Lage Raho Munnabhai, which looks like it will keep its title as the best reviewed Hindi film of the year, as it is at an 81%. It is already in our top 10 best reviewed films of the year, whether or not it will stay there once all the reviews are in over the next week remains to be seen. The general consensus for Dhoom 2 is that it has breath taking stunts, and Hrithik Roshan carries the film. It's interesting the the main characters from the original, played by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, are relegated to supporting roles.

At the box office, Dhoom 2 is expected to overtake Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna as the biggest one week opening for a Bollywood film in history. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna grossed 15 crores in its first week.
