Suniel Shetty has paid a Rs 75 lakh out of court settlement over a copyright row regarding his forthcoming film Bhaagam Bhaag and has had to accept that his film is indeed a Hindi remake of the Malayalam superhit, Mannar Mathai Speaking.

Mani Kappan, the producer of the Malyalam film, has now withdrawn his case, his counsel Majid Memon said.

Last week, notices were issued by the Bombay high court to the producers of the film, Shetty, Raj Mehta, director Priyadarshan and story-screenplay writer Neeraj Vora in the suit.

Interestingly, Mannar Mathai Speaking is the sequel to the huge Malayalam hit, Ramji Rao Speaking which was later made into the blockbuster Hindi film, Hera Pheri.

Bhaagam Bhaag stars Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav and is slated for release on December 22.
