Over-Cautious Or Prudent
By Krishna Jewel | December 25, 2006
Over-Cautious Or PrudentJust about any other actor in his place would find it impossible not to be shouting from rooftops.

However, despite the fact that Vivah is the huge hit that it is [in fact, one of the biggest hits of Rajshri], Shahid Kapoor is continuing to maintain a low profile. In fact, other than the Ramesh Sippy-produced film with Nana as his co-star [directed by Rohit Shetty], the actor hasn't signed another film yet, "Where are the good films?" Shahid laughs.

On a serious note, the actor says "I am keen to get back to studios, but the project should excite me. I need to be convinced first. I am meeting people, I am reading scripts, but I am in no hurry to grab any and every film offered to me."

One has to wonder if perhaps he is being a bit over-cautious. However, there are whispers that he has hiked his fee to around Rs. 2.5 crores following Vivah. "Honestly, my priority is to do the right project. As far as money is concerned, it's important. I am not denying that. But what's more important is a good project. Money will follow. Through films. Through stage shows. Through events. Of course, the fee will be revised. It happens with a hit. But it's not the figure you just quoted," is Shahid's response.

For the moment, Shahid is happy enough basking in the glory of Vivah. "It has found tremendous appreciation. I was thrilled when I saw the rating in the 'Top 5 charts' of IndiaFM yesterday. I knew it was doing well, but so well? I couldn't have asked for more," he smiles.
