Mani Ratnam's Guru has attracted a lot attention...not always for positive reasons; it has already been in news for controversy regarding the storyline of the film. Additionally, and more positively, the film has attracted a great deal of attention for its huge starcast, which includes Mithun Chakraborty, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, R.Madhavan and Vidya Balan, among others.

Not much has been said of the other actors to date, however it has been learnt that Vidya plays a disabled character, Meenu, who is in a wheel chair.

In addition to Guru, Vidya will also be seen in Nikhil Advani's Salaam-E-Ishq and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Ek Lavya-The Royal Guard, all are scheduled to release next year.
