2005 will be remembered as one of the better years for the film industry. Sitting at the top of the Bollywood throne in 2005 were Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan.

The two Bachchan's both featured in four hits each, although Bachchan Sr. also had a few non-successes in Virrudh, Ek Ajnabee, and Dil Jo Bhi Kahey. Saif had one major success in Salaam Namaste and a minor one in Parineeta. Akshay has had several hits including Waqt, Garam Masala and , however he also had some duds like Deewane Huye Paagal and Insan. Salman too had some success with the blockbuster No Entry, as well as a minor hit in Lucky - No Time for Love, however his last film, Kyon Ki, was a flop.
