The ZEE Cine Awards are just days away now. The huge event being held in Mauritius this year will take place on Saturday 4th March. The venue for the 2006 event is Swami Vivekananda convention center.

The list of stars includes Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherji, Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar. With more stars to be announced in the coming days.

Television actor Roshni Chopra and anchor Sajid Khan will host the red carpet and the curtain raiser events. The live telecast of the awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8 pm IST, the curtain raiser will be aired an hour before.

Last year’s Zee Cine Awards were held in London. The swish ambience of Mauritius was selected as this year’s venue by Zee. This time, the theme is the sun, sand and sea. Chartered flights have been arranged to fly the invitees down to Mauritius. On March 3, what seems like almost all of Bollywood is scheduled to arrive and take part in the festivities that will lead up to the ceremony on March 4. The island’s best five star hotels, Indian Resorts and Spa and Taj Exotica, will be the temporary home away from home for the nominees and star guests.

According the ZCA site, the Zee Cine Awards were first held in 1998. The venue was appropriately the hub of Indian cinema, Mumbai. Zee Cine Awards have gained popularity as the people's choice award from 1998. The results for Zee Cine Awards are 100 per cent dependent on public votes.

By holding the award ceremony in Dubai, ZCA went international in 2004. Zee Cine Awards next went to London in 2005 and 2006 is taking the ceremony to Mauritius, the hub of Asian Glamour and Lifestyle.

The Zee Cine Awards will be held on March 4, 2006. The Show starts at 7:00 PM IST. 7:00 - 7:30 PM IST: Red carpet 7:30 - 8:00 PM IST: Curtain raiser 8:00 PM IST Onward Performances and Awards.
