As part of the French government’s initiative to promote France as a filming location among Indian filmmakers it is holding a “Bollywood” week, from April 26 to May 2, 2006. On April 26, the Veer-Zaara team, consisting of Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, Yash Chopra and Sanjeev Kohli, was at the Champs-Elysées Virgin Megastore for a special dedication.
Apparently, some of those in attendance of the event reported that they were made to wait many hours for the stars to turn up. On top of that, the stars left within half an hour of their arrival. Therefore, very few of those who had been waiting were able to obtain the stars autographs. Most of the crowd complained of bad event management by Virgin Megastore.
Back in February Shah Rukh Khan visited France to do some shooting for Farhan Akhtar's remake of ‘Don’. The French Government has offered Indian filmmakers enticements such as tax exemption for all production expenses, as well as free transportation and accommodation wherever applicable.
