Previously, Aishwarya Rai and Mallika Sherawat caused a media frenzy when they were invited to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. This year, actress Preity Zinta and director/producer Karan Johar have been invited to the film festival. They will be representing India at a special dinner.

Apart from this festival, Preity is also looking forward to the month long world tour she will be a part of, The Heat. Her costumes for the concerts are being designed by Manish Malhotra.With the unavailability of Saif, Preity has planned to call on Akshay Kumar to perform Saif's part with her for the 'Salaam Namaste' acts. If Akshay cannot, then Preity will give a solo performance.

Her upcoming films include “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna”, “Jaaneman” and a special appearance in “Krrish”. She has also signed Shaad Ali’s next “Jhoom Bara Bar Jhoom” with Abhishek Bachchan.
