Aamir Khan was in Malaysia recently for one day to wrap up some scenes for “Fanaa”, his next release. After landing at the KLIA airport, he was in quite a rush, however, he did take time to talk to the local press, as they had been waiting 3 hours for his arrival.

He said that he had heard many pleasant things about Malaysia, adding that the country is said to be beautiful and as are the people. He also said he hoped to visit and explore it soon, when he had some time off. Soon, Aamir rushed to the film sets as he had a lot of work pending.

All the cast and crew of "Fanaa" have been bound by contract not to talk about the film. So, he was reluctant to say anything about his character, Rehan, but promised that this is different from everything he has previously done. Aamir Khan says he was “bowled over” by the story of “Fanaa” the first time he heard it. A filmmaker has to present a remarkable script to cause Aamir to be “bowled over”.

Directed by Kunal Kohli, “Fanaa” is a comeback vehicle for actress Kajol, who has been on a hiatus for a few years following her marriage to Ajay Devgan and the birth of their daughter, Nysa.

"Fanaa" has a few first for the lead actors to contend with. It is the first time Aamir Khan and Kajol have been paired together. They were in “Ishq”, but weren’t paired opposite each other. Another first, Aamir will be seen vacillating between the roles of lover and terrorist. And for the actress, she is playing a character with a physical disability for the first time.

“The promos are on air now and if your observation says that Kajol is playing a blind girl, that’s correct. But I cannot divulge any details about the context the characters are born in.” director Kohli has said.

All the cast and crew of “Fanaa” have been bound by contract not to talk about the film. Yash Raj Films are always kept under tight wraps before the films are released.

According to sources, the film is about how love brings about a change of heart in a man given to a violent mission.

Kajol plays a university student who is blind and feels deprived of all the emotional experiences brought by the sight of nature. Aamir Khan’s character, a terrorist, comes into her life and while helping her cherish the simple joys of life they fall in love.

The movie’s title "Fanaa" literally means martyred/destroyed in love. "Fanaa" also features two songs sung by Aamir and Kajol, ‘Mere Haath Mein’ and ‘Chanda Chamke’. The songs were composed by Jatin-Lalit and written by Prasoon Joshi.

The Yashraj Films production is slated for release a May.
