"Tis but thy name that is my enemy” Rimi Sen maybe saying. The Dhoom girl says she‘s fed up with her current name. The reason behind this is the fact she shares her surname, Sen, with several other actresses, not to mention similar forenames most of them have.
She says it can be rather annoying at times, speaking about the other Sens, she says about Riya, Raima and Reema. “The other day I was sleeping at home and got a call from someone saying that a local court in Chennai has issued an arrest warrant in an obscenity case against me and Shilpa Shetty. It jolted me from my deep slumber. In fact, I almost fainted hearing it. I was trying hard to recall what obscenity I had done and also started imagining wild things. I thought any moment the police would land up at my house to arrest me. I later switched on the TV, and came to know that it was Shilpa Shetty Reema Sen, not me! After all this confusion, I considered changing my spelling and even dropped my surname. I started calling myself Rimi, but I don’t think that’s working either. So I’m really fed up. Sometimes I seriously think of changing my name, but I’ve realised it’s too late to take up a new identity,” she says.
Well, no matter what she, and her Sen counter parts, may call themselves, Shakespeare went on to say, “What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet.”
