Rani Mukherjee isn’t busy shooting right now; nonetheless, she’s busier than ever. “I’m taking care of all pending work at home. With my new house being done up, and my little niece being the centre of our attention, things are chaotic,” she says.

Rani will return to work by the end of May to begin shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Sawariya followed by Siddhartha Anand’s film starring opposite Saif Ali Khan.

Rani isn’t about to divulge a great deal about the projects. “It’s not about secrecy,” she says. “When have I ever spoken about my new films? I like to let my work speak for itself. There’re too many people eyeing the two films. I never spoke about Black, and I won’t speak about Sawariya either. In Siddhartha’s film, I am paired with Saif again. We both had a blast shooting for Hum Tum. I’m sure we’ll enjoy ourselves this time too,” says Rani.

She and Saif have great on-screen chemistry, is this a result of belonging to the same school of acting? “I don’t know which school Saif belongs to. I don’t even know which acting school I am from. All I know is that I act from the heart, which every genuine actor does.”

Before moving on to Anand’s film, Rani also has to complete Ravi Chopra’s Babul. “Babul got delayed because of Amitji’s illness. I’ll complete Babul in July before leaving for Siddhartha’s film. Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna will release in August and hopefully, Babul will release in Diwali,” says Rani.

Currently, Rani isn’t looking at any more assignments. She says, “This is all I can take right now. I need time for my family, my home, my friends and myself. I’ve never done more than two films at the same time. Balancing my personal and professional life has always been important to me.”
