Mumbai: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has lodged a complaint against her former Secretary Prakash Jaju with the police, and is seeking police protection. Her complaint is that she has been receiving threatening calls from Jaju.

Jaju has previously filed charges against Priyanka alleging he and Chopra had entered into a contract for his services promoting the actress in the film industry. As indicated by the agreement, Jaju was entitled to 30 per cent of her earnings, and a sum of Rs 30 lakh was due to him. He claims she has not paid he what he is due.

Chopra got a reprieve in cases as the Mumbai High Court stayed the proceedings initiated against her in a lower court. Andheri Magistrate had earlier issued summons to the former Miss World and asked her to answer the allegations of cheating.

A management company, Akshaya Management and Services, filed a criminal complaint against the actress as well, stating that Chopra had benefited from its services, but had not paid the owing fees.

Jaju had threatened to go to the court seeking stay on her forthcoming film, Krissh, until she pays what he claims he is owed. “I am taking all legal means to stall the release of her forthcoming film Krrish. It’s a fact that Priyanka signed Krrish when I was no more her secretary, but she has to pay the money she owes me,” he said.

As well as Priyanka, producer Rakesh Roshan has been having difficulties with Prakash Jaju. The police want film producer Rakesh Roshan to file a complaint against Chopra’s former secretary Jaju, who had allegedly been receiving threatening messages from Jaju. Senior inspector Pradeep Shinde of Juhu police station said, “We want Roshan to file police complaint if he had indeed been receiving threats.” Sources said Shinde had been told by deputy commissioner of police (Zone-9) Amitabh Gupta to deal with the issue. “I went to Roshan’s office and home to talk to him, but he was not present in either of the places. I have left messages for him, but he hasn’t yet got back to me,” said Shinde. Priyanka’s father has filed a criminal case against Jaju at Oshiwara police station on Monday. “Ashok Chopra registered a complaint of threats to life and indecent messages sent by Jaju,” said DCP Gupta.
