Shah Rukh Khan has been many things and many people during the course of his legendary career. Now he has taken on the mantle of knight in shining armour to E. Niwas.

Awhile back, Niwas introduced a medium-budget film called My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, with newcomer Nikhil Dwivedi and Amrita Rao in the lead roles.

The most recent news on My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves is two of the film industry’s heavyweights - Shah Rukh Khan and Bhushan Kumar of T-Series - have decided to give their backing to the project. While Bhushan Kumar will present the film, SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment will be the Line Producer.

How did Shah Rukh become involved? “Shah Rukh loved the script when he read it,” Niwas says, “We met through a common friend and he decided to back the project. His company, Red Chillies, is now looking after the production and marketing of the film.”

The film is now set to take off by August-end and will be completed by November this year. The obvious question is as SRK is associated with the project, is he in the film as well? “No, he isn’t,” easily comes the reply.

Also starring in the film are Boman Irani, Rajpal Yadav, Pawan Malhotra, Lilette Dubey and Mukesh Tiwari.

Himesh Reshammiya is doing the music and Farah Khan and Ganesh Hegde will do the choreography.

With SRK involved, My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves is looking bigger and better all the time.
