Rani Mukherji is one of the busiest stars in Hindi Cinema today, hence she wishes there were more than 24 hours in a day."There is just so much to do and never enough time. There are times when I wish that there were 36 or 48 hours in a day," she laughs.
What would she do with all that extra time? "Oh, I'd work more," says the workaholic, adding, "I'd also spend more time playing with my niece Mishti."
Speaking of time, another product has been added Rani's list of endorsements. She joins Aamir Khan as an ambassador for Titan, promoting the brand's women's watches. She states her reasoning for signing on as, "My father had gifted me a Titan watch after I completed Class 10, so I guess there is an emotional connect of some sort."
In an industry where everything happens on BST (that's not British Standard Time, but rather - Bollywood Standard Time - at least two hours behind scheduled), how punctual is she?
"Quite punctual actually, but there are times when I just can't help it. Sometimes one gets delayed because of another person or because a shot needs to be completed." This explains why Rani doesn't get too uptight if someone else is late. "People have reasons..."
On the subect of films, Rani is in Karan Johar's latest film, which is slatted for release in August. "I haven't had a movie release in about a year, so like everyone else I'm also looking forward to it. My character Maya in 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' is complex. I hope everyone appreciates the film and my work because so much hard work has gone into making the film."
Rani is a very busy woman. Currently, she is shooting with Saif Ali Khan for Siddharth Anand's untitled film, in addition to spending quality time with her family (especially Mishti) as and when she can, as well as doing up her new house in Juhu. "It's going to take a while before that's ready," she says quickly before hurrying off.
