Rakesh Roshan's eagerly awaited "Krrish" is to release Friday 23rd June and most multiplexes in Dehli are already reporting that over 75 percent of their tickets for most of next week have sold out. The advance booking of this masterpiece from Rakesh Roshan’s Filmkraft Factory is historic. It is prepared to rake in Rs 50 crore in the first three days alone. This means the Fanaa’ record of Rs 32 crore set a month ago is about to be broken. Saurabh Varma, vice president of PVR Cinemas that runs a chain of Delhi multiplexes, Gurgaon and Noida, said the response to the film was phenomenal. "People have booked tickets till next weekend and the response is quite phenomenal. After the success of 'Fanaa', we hope 'Krrish' will be a box office hit too," Varma told agencies.
"We have sold out over 80 percent of the tickets for the opening day in all our multiplexes. Looking at the response, we are going to host 18 shows a day in one of our multiplexes in Noida."
With 870 prints being thrust into the market, made at a budget of Rs 40 crore Krrish shall easily make a profit from the beginning. It is opening with 59 prints in Delhi alone. In the M2K multiplex in northwest Delhi's Rohini, over 75 percent of the seats are booked for the weekend shows.
"We have kept a flat rate of Rs.125 for all shows and over 75 percent of the tickets have sold out. For the first show, only front seats are available today," said a multiplex official.
In the neighbouring satellite town of Ghaziabad, the situation was similar in MMX.
"Only a small percent of the tickets are available now for the weekend," a multiplex official said, adding that ticket prices have increased from Rs.50, Rs.100 and Rs.200 to Rs.80, Rs.120 and Rs.250.
