By Krishna Jewel | June 03, 2006
Fanaa Creates History At The Box Office"Yash Raj Films' latest offering Fanaa creates history at the box office. Fanaa is the highest grossing film on the first weekend, in the history of Indian films. Fanaa's magic has spread all around the world."

This is a statement on the Yash Raj site. The Aamir Khan, Kajol starrer Fanaa, is rapidly climbing in the numbers game, despite the setback in Gujarat. According to the most recent figures from Yash Raj, the film's collections are soaring. "Fanaa has collected 22.79 crores in just four days all over the country, except for Gujarat. I am hoping and praying that the film releases in Gujarat as well, as I would like to share this success with the people of Gujarat.

It will be a sweeter victory for Fanaa when that happens, says director Kunal Kolhi. "Overseas too the collections have been fabulous." When asked how he planned to celebrate, the director replied, "By releasing the film in Gujarat. That will be celebration enough."

It is certain this is a sentiment shared by most.

The Yash Raj site has the figures for Fanaa to date. Below are the current box office numbers:

All India collections (4 days): Rs. 22.79 crore - highest ever first 4 days collections (These figures are without the film having released in the entire state of Gujarat)

Overseas Collection: Yash Raj Films has another feather in their cap with Fanaa as it enters the UK box office charts at 'number 6', grossing 414,835 in the first 4 days from 37 screens across the UK.
