Mumbai (IANS): Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan's mother Teji Bachchan was admitted to a hospital Friday in serious condition.

According to the Leelavati Hospital, the 87-year-old wife of the late Hindi poet Harivanshrai Bachchan was under observation in the intensive care unit.

The Bachchan's family doctor was supervising a series of tests on her.

Teji Bachchan was admitted to the same hospital in April 2004 when she sufferied from lower back pain and intestinal infection.
