Kolkata: On Monday, police said they thwarted an attempt to circulate pirated CDs of Rakesh Roshan's latest film Krrish by seizing a "master CD" of the film at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.Following an FIR filed by a distributor of the film, which released all over the country last Friday, the police carried out a raid at the airport and seized an unclaimed shipment which included the "master CD" of the film.
"No one turned up to claim the consignment, which landed on Saturday night. We are investigating the matter," an officer at the airport police station said.
Niraj Movies, West Bengal's distributor, claimed that they had been given prior information that a consignment of this nature was enroute to Kolkata and duely informed the police.
Made at an estimated budget of nearly Rs 50 crore, extra precautions to prevent piracy of the film have been taken by the producer, Rakesh Roshan, and the audio and video right holder of the film, T-Series.
An FIR has been filed in Mumbai in this regard a couple of days ago as an official of T-Series recently received a threat for the drive against the piracy of soundtracks and video of Krrish.
