Mumbai: Akshay Kumar seems to be riding the crest of a wave of success lately, much to the pleasure of his fans. Now, he and they have more reasons to rejoice, particularly those fans abroad, very soon the actor will have an official website which will give his fans an opportunity to contact him directly.

Akshay's films, like Waqt - Race Against Time, Bewafaa, Garam Masala and Phir Hera Pheri, are consistently featuring on the top of the British charts, creating an upswing Akshay’s overseas fan base.

A team led by Alnoor Merchant, director of Movies Talkies, is working on the negotiations of the website. Movies Talkies had earlier been associated with Rang De Basanti, Bend It Like Beckham. Their most recent work is Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

"Currently we are in the process of putting together Akshay Kumar's official website. At this point of time we are not in a position to divulge more information," said Merchant, who is also developing a website for Aamir Khan.

On Akshay's popularity among NRIs, one distributor is of the following opinion: "You can publish a phone directory with just his name and it would be a bestseller. He is the new superstar with the Midas touch at the box-office."

Sources have said the site will be a huge hit among his fans because they will find everything they want to know about him.

In addition, Akshay's website will include an action game that would be in conjunction with his action hero image. Fans will also be able to download pictures of Akshay, among other things. The site will also provide exclusive information, not found anywhere else. The overall look and feel of the website will be stylish in a bid to suit Akshay's onscreen persona.

It is not widely known that Akshay is quite a net and gizmo enthusiast. Currently, his favourite possessions are his latest acquisition, an ipod Nano and a very high-tech laptop.

In fact, Akshay is always online with his friends when he is shooting abroad and keeps in touch with them via his private email address.

At present Akshay is in London shooting for Bhagam Bhaag and Namaste London.
