London: From the first of august, dolls immortalising some of the leading stars of Indian Cinema will be sold in the UK under the brand name of Bollywood Legends. Supernova Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be one of the first to be in doll form.

The first four 'Legends' – Shah Rukh, Hrithik, Kajol and Priyanka- have all been immortalised. The stars themselves have been involved throughout the process of creation of their dolls, stated the manufacturers of the dolls on Monday.

Leading toy manufacturer and distributor Spin Master Toys UK have teamed up with entrepreneur Shameen Jivraj to launch these dolls, the first ever based on Indian Cinema.

This is a concept Shameen came up with four years ago, and approached Spin Master Toys UK to handle the UK distribution of the dolls more recently.

Shameen is the driving force behind 'Bollywood Legends' and brings a wealth of experience in toy industry with her, having headed the 'Shiny Doll' development team, as well as many other well-known children's brands such as 'Star Wars' 'Playdoh' and 'Teletubbies'.

She said: "I became intrigued by Bollywood a little while ago and was drawn into the movies with their mix of fun, fashion, music and dance. It's such a magical and emotive arena and I wanted to create something that would allow the audiences to be able to take some of that magic home to treasure and enjoy in a unique and new way."

The 12-inch dolls have been meticulously crafted, with attention paid to every detail, from their outfits and their expressions - down to Shah Rukh Khan's famously curved eyebrows.

Each doll comes with traditional Indian clothing, with the ladies wearing the most gorgeous and ornate dresses in vibrant colours and adorned with beautiful jewellery. The male dolls come with an additional Western outfit, Shah Rukh is dress in an outfit from Kal Ho Naa Ho.
