The Show Won't Go On, For Now...Mumbai: The rains in Mumbai have done it again. The rains, which wreak havoc every year and affect everyday life for so many in the city, also brings the multi-crore Mumbai film industry to its knees. A continuous overnight downpour guaranteed there was no lights, camera or action for many directors and their casts and crews on Tuesday.

Karan Johar had hoped to wrap up a few pending scenes with Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee of his big budget Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK), scheduled to release on August 11, at the Yash Raj studios in Andheri. Unfortunately, this schedule had to be cancelled owing to the flooding of the suburb.

Ravi Chopra's Babul also ran into trouble due to the rains. Scenes for this film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee were supposed to be shot at the Film City in Goregaon.

Also affected by the downpour is director Onir's Bas Ek Pal. The shooting schedule has now been postponed for July 13 and 14.

The audio mixing of Mahesh Bhatt's latest film The Killer, scheduled for a July 21 release, also had to be cancelled for the same reason.

Apart from film shoots, many showbiz events in the city were also affected. The music release parties of both directors Vishal Bharadhwaj's multi-starrer Omkara and Suresh Krishna's Rocky starring Zayed Khan were scheduled. However, both were cancelled due to the rains.
