Immediately following the release of his latest film, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK), without missing a beat Karan Johar, will start working on two films at the same time.Karan's once assistant, Soham, who previously directed Kaal, will direct the first of these two films expected to roll in November this year. The film isn't titled yet, but Karan is keen to call it Race. "The hitch is, the title is with Ramesh Sippy," Karan says.
"So far, we have finalized Sanjay Dutt, John Abraham, Kareena Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh for the project in question. We'll be adding two more heroes to the cast," Karan informs.
The second project, Karan divulges, will also start in November and will be directed by another new director, Tarun Mansukhani, who has been Karan's apprentice since the directors first film venture, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. "We've okayed the script already. All he needs to do is put the cast in place. Tarun is an extremely bright and hardworking guy," he adds.
What does Karan have planned for himself? "I plan to take a two-week holiday after KANK. Thereafter, I will begin shooting the new series of Koffee With Karan from October onwards. But there wouldn't be a long gap between KANK and my next film, I promise," he smiles.
