Shah Rukh Khan's Nighttime Activities
By Krishna Jewel | August 16, 2006
Shah Rukh Khan's Nighttime ActivitiesIf you are a cine fan, moreover an SRK fan, you will likely recall that Shah Rukh Khan was a sports buff during his youth in Delhi.

Unfortunately, as his life and schedule gradually became increasingly busy, he found he did not have much time for his passion. As the children came along, his spare time was spent with the family.

Unlike many people into sports, the actor had never real taken an interest in bodybuilding, not even when hitting the gym was the buzzword in tinsel town.

However, when the actor began working on Asoka, he began working on his physique, as he spent a good portion of the film topless. That's when Prashant Sawant entered SRK's inner world. However, his neck injury prevented him from doing too much.

Five years down the line, Sawant is still there, a friend, a confidant but above all else, a family member. SRK is looking 'fit' in his current releases, KANK and Don, and it's all thanks to Sawant.

Quite like how he approaches his acting, Shah Rukh works out in the gym with all honesty and gives it all he has.

"He mostly works out in the night, and rarely does he bunk a schedule if he's in Mumbai. His children drop in at times but he concentrates on his workouts. He exercises for about an hour and half and he wakes up early too," says Sawant.

He adds that SRK doesn't aspire to have a physique like Salman Khan. "Shah Rukh has his own personality," he adds.

Since the actor has a back and neck problem, Sawant puts him through special exercises.

"He does leg, and back exercises and the stress is on cardiovascular workouts. He emphasises on chest and bicep exercises too. His back is looking strong now," explains Sawant.

As for the actors diet; it's chicken, and lots of salads and juices for SRK. Quite a change from the Pepsi guzzling of the past, before the actor had neck surgery, the actor admit that Pepsi was all he drank, post-op, he began drinking more water and such for his health.

Wholly unknown to most, Khan helped Sawant set up his Juhu gym. "Shah Rukh has always been there as a friend, and he has supported me throughout. He has helped me with starting the gym too," says Sawant.

It is certain there will be many ladies the world over who will be offering thanks to Sawant as they watch KANK and Don. The work Shah Rukh had done on his legs is evident in the football scenes in KANK, and one can be sure there will be plenty of opportunities to see SRK's new physique in Don and future films.
