Many will have been very disappointed by Sonu Nigam's recent decision to give up singing.

In the past, Sonu Nigam has had huge hits with films like Fanaa, Krrish, Parineeta, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zaara, etc.

However, the talented singer recently took everyone by surprise when he declared his decision to quit singing. "Music has and will always be a part of my life. By quitting I just meant that I'd take it easy. Instead of doing 50 songs a month, I'll do 5 a year. I believe in creativity and quality work. I don't believe in mediocrity. Besides I want to pursue a lot of other things in life. I've acquired lots of money and fame. Now I want to read books, travel, I want to do farming and learn lots of classical music," he waxes lyrical.

When asked about his favourite singer from the contemporary lot he says, "It's not fair to choose one. They all are talented and have their own distinctive styles," he concludes.
