Today is Kajol's birthday. Her mother, Tanuja, and pal Karan Johar talk about their special bond with the birthday girl.

Karan Johar's belief in Kajol is very strong as a friend and performer. "Kajol and I have been friends for a long time. For me, she'll always remain a friend first and then a brilliant actress. She will always be a part of my life," says Johar.

Karan reveals that Kajol herself is extremly loyal as a friend. "Once she accepts you as a friend, she'll love you to death. She is very honest, loyal and exceptionally sincere in whatever she does. We share a relationship which goes beyond friendship. I connect with her deeply."

Professionally, Karan's opinion is that she needs to do more films. "I hope and pray she does much more work because we need her brilliant presence in our films. Such talent should not be wasted — she is a special girl."

Kajol's mom Tanuja couldn't agree more. "She's a gift from God. I hope she's happy and healthy and full of joy all her life," she says. However, Tanuja has no special plans for her Kajol's birthday. "Now that she's married, it's up to Ajay. I hope Ajay makes Kajol's birthday special for her."

Tanuja says Kajol has not changed a bit, even after marriage and motherhood. "My daughters have been very close to me and it remains so."

Tanuja has another fan, her granddaughter Nysa is also very fond of her. "I'm going to Goa and she is very excited about coming with me," Tanuja says.
