There is a push on to encourage filmmakers from India to shoot in South Australia.

The sci-fi film Love Story 2050, starring former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, is finally being filmed in the state with shooting taking place at the Festival Theatre in Adelaide today.

After much ado and many changes, including the leading lady several times, director Harry Baweja considered shooting in Italy and Scotland, before settling on South Australia.

"We were looking for a place where we could find a city, the metro area we have in Adelaide, and we would probably look for a small town, Strathalbyn. We wanted a desert, we wanted red sand, we wanted salt lakes, we wanted an island, which Kangaroo Island is - beautiful. We wanted all these kind of place from one central point and South Australia was the thing," he said.

Love Story 2050 has had a rough start, here's hoping things go much more smoothly for the film from here on out.
