A look at Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya'This weekend marks the release of two of the most anticipated films of the year in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya and Farah Khan's Om Smanti Om. Today we will take a look at Saawariya, and tomorrow we will have a special look at Om Smanti Om.

Saawariya is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first release since his critically acclaimed hit Black, which was the best reviewed film of 2005 by far with a 79% (for the top 20 reviews films of 2005, click here). Black swept all the major awards for that year, including fetching National Awards for Best Feature Film in Hindi and Best Actor for Amitabh Bachchan.

Saawariya stars two debutantes in Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor is the son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, and grandson of the legendary Raj Kapoor. Meanwhile Sonam Kapoor is the daughter of Anil Kapoor.

The film also stars Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji in supporting roles. Both have worked with Bhansali before, with Salman starring in 1999's hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and Rani working in Black, for which she won most major awards for Best Actress.

The music for Saawariya has found appreciation. On our music reviews page, the soundtrack for the film is at a 70%, which is 'Very Good'. With 15 reviews counted, it has 14 positive reviews, 1 average review with no negative reviews.
