'TZP' getting rave reviews, 'Welcome' average at a 55%Today saw the much awaited releases of Taare Zameen Par and Welcome.

Taare Zameen Par is off to a great start with the critics, and with 17 reviews in for the film, it is at a 75% which is 'Very Good'. As a matter of fact, if the film can maintain this rating as more reviews come in, it would be the best reviewed major release of 2007, edging out Guru (72%) and Chak De India (71%).

Of the 17 reviews we have for Taare Zameen Par, 15 have been positive, 2 have been average and there have been no negative reviews. What is also impressive is of the 15 positive reviews, 11 are 4 stars or higher! Of course, that rating can go up or down as more reviews for the film come in, so make sure to keep checking this space often as more reviews come in. Meanwhile the other major release today, Welcome, hasn't fared near as well with the critics. The multi-starrer, starring Akshay Kumar, Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Katrina Kaif is off to an above average start with a 55%. Of the 8 reviews we have for the film, 5 have been positive and 3 have been negative. This puts it in the range that Akshay's other films this year have been in, as Heyy Babyy scored a 58%, Namastey London scored a 56% and Bhool Bhulaiyaa scored a 52%. And like those other films, Welcome is expected to be a huge hit and already has had a great opening. Akshay continues to star in average films that become huge money spinners at the box office, and Welcome continues that trend.

Like with Taare Zameen Par, the rating for Welcome can go up or down drastically as more reviews for the film come in, so make sure to keep checking this space often. For all current news and reviews for Welcome, click here.
