On Friday superstar legend, Amitabh Bachchan, did not appear before the throng of fans outside his residence in Mumbai for his son Abhishek Bachchan's wedding, however a man resembling the superstar did keep the crowds entertained.

The man, who said he came from Bhopal to give his blessings to Abhishek, kept waving to the crowds gathered outside Jalsa, the Bachchan residence.

Although the fans did not get more than the occasional glimpse of the legend and his son, the "duplicate Amitabh" obliged people by waving to them from a temporary platform erected for the media and which he had climbed onto.

People cheered the man while he stood smiling. Many even clicked photographs of him in excitement.

People from across Mumbai and the rest of country gathered near Prateeksha and Jalsa, the Bachchan family's two residences' in Juhu, to try to get a glimpse of the new couple, Abhishek and Aishwarya.
