60th Cannes Film Festival certainly took notice of Ashutosh Gowariker and his latest epic Jodhaa - Akbar.

Ashutosh Gowariker made it on to Variety's list of the 60 most important people to watch for at Cannes '07, while the first visual of Jodhaa - Akbar was showcased amidst international buyers and media.

Sunita Gowariker, Executive Producer, who represented the Jodhaa - Akbar team, just returned from Cannes where the 2-minute promo was showcased for the first time and got an overwhelming response.

Says Sunita, "The reactions were amazing. Buyers for Germany, France and South Africa were very excited. Representatives from Venice and Rome were keen that Jodhaa - Akbar be showcased at their festivals."

Produced by UTV and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions, the film is slated for 12th October release.
