Ah, don't we all wish we could take refuge from the heat in the cooler climes of city on the sea, Cannes and it's neighbour just up the coast, Nice.

Well, enviably, it seems like half of Bollywood is there, or will be there by May 15, for the opening of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

Currently holidaying abroad with hubby Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya will once again be at the venue. Previously, she was there for the film premier of Devdas, then as a jury member and later as the ambassador of an international cosmetic brand.

Others who will also be present at the Cannes festival are Hrithik and wife Sussane Roshan, Zayed Khan and wife Mallika, who are presently on holiday in Nice.

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu will also be there to officially attend the festival as well as to spend some quality time together.

In the past few years, the Cannes Film Festival has become an important centre for film business with Bollywood. Additionally, Aishwarya's official presence there has certainly brought Indian cinema more into the limelight for the glamour world of the West.

In addition to it being the 60th year of Indian Independence, it is also the 60th anniversary of the festival and there will be a lot of activity from Indian film professionals at Cannes this year. With a number of film producers, scriptwriters and production people promoting their projects at stalls and theatre owners from across the world coming to screen Indian films.
