High Court Notice Issued To Amitabh Bachchan
On 21st June Bombay High Court issued a notice to actor Amitabh Bachchan for allegedly violating Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Nirmal Thakur, a city journalist, filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Amitabh saying the actor allegedly indulged in foreign currency transaction without the mandatory permission of the Reserve Bank of India. Thus, he violated FEMA.
After hearing the PIL filed by the journalist, a Division Bench of Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice S C Dharmadhikari issued a notice to Bachchan and CBI inquiry into the alleged violation of FEMA.
