The Amitabh Bachchan starrer, The Last Lear an adaptation of Utpal Dutt's play 'Aajker Shahjahan', has been invited to have a world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this year.

This will be held on Sunday, 9th September at the Roy Thompson Hall, the largest cinema in Toronto. To add to this honour, it is only one of two films being given Gala Premiere status this year; the other film is the big-ticket film from Hollywood, Blood Brothers.

The Last Lear is directed by Rituparno Ghosh and presented by Arindam Chaudhuri with Shubho Shekhar Bhattacharjee as the executive producer.

The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal and Shefali Shah.
