'Gandhi My Father' and 'Naya Daur' score with critics, 'Cash' disappointsThis past weekend saw the releases of two highly anticipated films as well as a colorized classic.

Director Anubhav Sinha returned with the highly anticipated Cash, with a large star cast including Ajay Devgan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Zayed Khan, Shamita Shetty and Sunil Shetty. Sinha's last film was Dus (starring Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, Zayed Khan, Shilpa Shetty, and Esha Deol), which performed very well at the box office and performed decently with the critics, scoring a 52% (for all news and reviews for Dus, click here). However, Cash didn't get the same response.

Cash is at a 37% with the critics, which gives it a 'Bad' tag (to see how films are tagged, click here). With 27 reviews for the film, only one has been positive, 3 have been average and the remaining 23 have been negative. While more reviews will be coming in for the film over the next several days, it's doubtful that the score will change much.

The general consensus for the film is that while it is slick and contains some great action sequences, the lack of story and screenplay make the proceedings hard to watch. For all news and reviews for the film, click here.

Meanwhile, the Anil Kapoor produced - Feroz Khan directed Gandhi My Father performed much better with the critics, with a 65% which earns it a 'Good' tag (to see how films are tagged, click here). It currently has 30 reviews, of which 25 are positive, 2 are average and 3 are negative. The film has garnered a lot of admiration for its story and performances, with it's pacing being it's biggest drawback. For all news and critics reviews for Gandhi My Father, click here.

The other major release this week was the colorized re-release of yesteryear classic Naya Daur. The classic is still a winner, scoring a 66% with the critics, which is 'Good'. Of the 8 critics reviews it has received, all 8 have been positive. For all news and critics reviews for Naya Daur, click here.

Of the other recent releases, the low budget Bow Barracks Forever is at a 39% with 11 reviews, which is 'Bad' and Partner is settling in with a 58% with 40 reviews, which earns it an 'Above Average' tag with the critics. To see how films are tagged, click here.

Stay tuned this week as reviews for the highly anticipated Shahrukh Khan starrer Chak De India and Sunny Deol's Kaafila start coming in.
