Karan Johar to make animation film Hot on the heels of his last film, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Karan Johar is venturing into new territory yet again.

The film will be a proper Masala film with songs and emotion - everything an Indian audience wants and expects in a film - only animated.

While the concept of animated films is very popular and long standing in the west. It is still a new one to the Indian market. Karan intends to venture into this unexplored genre in India in a big way.Karan Johar plans to start the film by next year.

Additionally, Karan intends to start direction on his next live action film by the end of next year. Karan's long time associate, Tarun Mansukhani, will be directing the next Dharma Films production which will be a romantic comedy. Of course, like all Dharma Films, it will have a huge star cast.
