MUMBAI: Actor Hrithik Roshan and his father, director/producer Rakesh raked it in with the superhit Krrish, but they are yet to clear collective dues of Rs6.92 lakh owed to the State.

The government told the Bombay High Court on Thursday that a total of 168 people, including Shekhar Suman and lawyer Majeed Memon, owe the government Rs2.12 crore for providing security cover for them.

Upon hearing a PIL filed by senior lawyer MP Vashi, Chief Justice HS Bedi and Justice VM Kanade directed the State to file a detailed affidavit stating the steps taken to recover the dues.

Pointing out that the people who are provided categorised security cover can afford to pay for it, "Why should the state ex-chequer be burdened?" Vashi asked.
