Mumbai: With the end of the year fast approaching, 2006 has been a good year for Shahid Kapoor.
Vivah is an unquestionable hit; the second week is showing good collections all over. Looking over 2006, Shahid Kapoor is probably a very happy man as he has a perfect record for the year.
His first release this year was Abbas Mustan's
36 China Town. Shahid may have had Akshaye Khanna and to an extent Upen Patel to contend with, but the fact is the film's success kicked 2006 off to a good start for him.
Following this was Priyadarshan's Chup Chup Ke. It is agreed that it had come up against Phir Hera Pheri, the film would have done better business than what its above average status may convey. Now with Vivah being declared a success, Shahid Kapoor has done well this year.
The success of these 3 films will be a boost to the actor, as 2005 was a particularly cruel year with none of his 3 films, Deewane Huye Paagal, Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi and Shikhar doing well at the box office.
