Upen Patel has taking everyone by surprised by winning the Best Newcomer award at the recently concluded GIFA awards in Malaysia.

Upen, who is currently in Malaysia, is extremly elated about winning this award. "I feel I am on top of the world. It feels great especially when you are an outsider to the industry. Winning is special when you have no Godfather in the industry and you are trying to make your mark. I really cherish this award."

Upen was asked about the reports that he does not do the dubbing for his own films and he replied, "I do not know where it comes up from. I am doing my own dubbing for Namaste London and the other films that I am doing have not yet reached the dubbing stage so I really can't tell you whether or not I am doing the dubbing for them."
