Pammi Somal's directorial debut Mummy Ji will see veteran actress Kirron Kher in a power-packed role about the present-day urban Punjabi mother shuttling between the kitchen and the club.The film, described as a complete family entertainer with strong undercurrents of emotions, will be made in three languages - English, Hindi and Punjabi, with Kirron playing the title role.
This is a tailor made role for Kirron, who will share the screen with such talented as actors like Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Kanwaljit Singh, Divya Dutta, Satish Kaushik and Rohit Roy.
Mummy Ji is being produced by US-based Dave Atwal of Atwal Entertainment and went on floors last week. Punjabi singer-actor Gurdaas Mann also makes a very special appearance in the film. Aadesh Srivastava has composed the music and Sameer has penned down the lyrics for the film.
Mummy Ji is Somal first venture into filmmaking, beyond this she has been an editor of a celebrity magazine and writer in the entertainment industry for over 20 years.
The makers are confident that Mummy Ji will hold the attention of the audiences from the first to the last frame.
