"I love controversies" - Soha Ali Khan
By Krishna Jewel | August 27, 2006
Soha Ali Khan is a more confident person and is coming into her own now. She has even bought a house for herself.

In an interview she talks about her family, her work and what it means to live life on her own terms...

I, me, myself

"I always choose to do a film on the basis of its script and the character it has to offer me. I love doing real cinema. My character in Rang De Basanti was very close to my own personality, while in my latest film, I play this subdued but well-educated girl, who is very close to reality. I am sure all girls will be able to relate to her."

Keep the rhythm going

"Cinema is supposed to capture real life. Moreover, I thing both (routine and different) kind of film are necessary. As far as dances and songs are concerned, they are far too refreshing."

Dad the diplomat

"I have learnt this (diplomacy) from my father. I never give the wrong answer. That department belongs to my co-star Abhay Deol."

No smoke without fire?

"I know people say that there is no smoke without fire. But in our case, the similarity ends with the fact that Abhay and I did a movie together, we laugh at our own jokes and go to the same gym."

Family matters

"I am a papa's girl. Our personalities match. He is a very inquisitive person who wants to know everything about a topic. He also has a great sense of humour. Thankfully, so do I. In fact, with amma, I just have three things in common — love for crossword puzzles, drinking coffee and going out. Amma has a bad temper, but she is a great mother."

Bhaiya rocks!

"When I was growing up, he was studying abroad. When he came back, I went to London to study. But now, we are very close. Bhai is a little possessive. He is a great actor and I always take his advice. He has the ability to execute any kind of character and the industry is also giving him his due."

Rosa, the friend

"I have met Rosa, she is a very nice person. Though we haven't conversed much, I am sure she will make for a great friend to me."

Controversy sells

"Absolutely! Only good work is talked about. So if Rang De Basanti created controversy, it means the film has done well. Give me a good controversy any day."
