Recently the organizers of Star Screen Awards with a request to perform for their awards function approached Abhishek Bachchan, but unfortunately Abhishek had to refuse due to busy shooting schedules.

The awards will take place on the 6th January but Abhishek will be busy shooting for Goldie Behl's film.

However, it seems the rumour mill is in full swing and some sources claim that when Abhishek was approached to perform, he quoted an exorbitant amount as remuneration, hence the organizers decided to approach some one else to perform.

However, Sandeep Khosla, who will direct the show, says "Fifteen days back we contacted Abhishek for the finale act. But he did not have dates for rehearsals. He was shooting for Goldie Behl's film and said he would not be able to give time for drills. But our talks did not reach the stage where we needed to discuss money, but yes we do definitely have a different budget allocation for different acts."

Abhishek received the award for Best Comic Actor at the Star Screen Awards for his role in Bunty Aur Babli last year.
