MUMBAI: Iconic actress Madhuri Dixit is preparing for her return to the Hindi film industry with a bang.

Dixit's as of yet untitled film is being launched by Yash Raj Films and with a scheduled launched of this January with cinematographer Anil Mehta (Lagaan,Devdas) debuting as the director of this film.

An insider in Yash Raj Films, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the film features Madhuri as the main protagonist and is a woman-oriented film, with the possibility of Madhuri playing multiple roles in the film. Whereas, the hero's character is likely to be of lesser significance, according to the source.

The source adds that the film, which is inspired by the classic Hollywood film The Sound of Music, will be launched within the first two weeks of January. Adding that the launch event itself is likely to be a festival of sorts.

"Determined to come back with a bang, Madhuri Dixit is working hard on her physique, looks and personality, just like a newcomer. Since she returned to Mumbai on 6 December, her gruelling sessions at the gym have seen her lose five – six kilos already," says a source from the Dixit camp.
