Despite both films having almost identical scores yesterday, Farah Khan's Om Smanti Om is now beating Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya by a wide margin with the critics. Although Om Smanti Om is getting much better reviews than Saawariya, the overall rating is still disappointing.

Om Smanti Om is back at a 63%, which is 'Good' (to see how our verdicts are calculated, click here), but a far cry from the 71% that Shahrukh Khan's last film, Chak De India, scored. Of the 26 reviews we have for the film so far, 21 are positive, 2 are average and 3 are negative. In our review for the film, Akshay Shah says "there is enough in the movie to warrant one watch, however the movie definitely falls way below expectations, and by no means is it the entertainer of all entertainers". Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya continues to disappoint, and has fallen further to a 49% which is 'Below Average'. That is also a far cry from Bhansali's last film, Black, which scored a 79% and was easily the best reviewed film of 2005 (for the top 20 films of 2005, click here). Saawariya now has 26 reviews so far, of which 9 are positive, 2 are average and the remaining 15 (the majority) are negative.

Despite the mostly negative reviews of the film, veteran film critic Subhash K. Jha gave the film 5 stars right here on AllBollywood.com, calling the film "Bhansali's most tender ode to love yet".
