As Hindi cinema becomes popular in more and more places around the world, we hear about this festival or that celebrating the industry. Now, for the first time ever, a Hindi Film festival is taking place in Brazil. A host of Hindi films will be showcased at the Bollywood Film Festival at Cinemateca in Sao Paulo.
March 6 to the 11 are the dates for the event and amongst those presenting their films is the YRF banner, which will screen its action-packed blockbuster
Dhoom 2. This is all the more special for Yashraj because
Dhoom 2 is the first Indian film ever to be shot in Brazil.
As a part of this promotion, Brazilian audiences will get to see Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra and Bipasha Basu shake a leg in locations across Brazil, like the Sugarloaf Mountain and the beaches of Ipanema.
Among the other films that will be screened at the festival include the mega-hit Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and the critically acclaimed Ayesha Dharkar starrer The Terrorist.
We all know 'Bollywood' is as big as it gets; and now even Brazil has taken heed. The President of the Indo-Brasilian Chamber of Commerce was quoted saying that 3.5 billion people watched Indian films in 100 countries last year.
