New Delhi: In Mumbai late Saturday evening at the Filmfare Awards
Hrithik Roshan and Kajol walked away with the Best Actor and Best Actress awards for their performance in
Dhoom 2 and
Fanaa respectively.
Held at Yashraj Studios, the ceremony was hosted by
Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar,
Preity Zinta and Juhi Chawla.
While Rakyesh Mehra won the award for Best Director for the Rang De Basanti, the Critics award for the Best Film was given to Rajkumar Hirani for Lage Raho Munnabhai.
The Critics award for the Best Actor was given to Aamir Khan for Rang De Basanti while Kareena Kapoor won the Critics Award for Best Actress for Omkara.
Abhishek Bachchan won the Best Supporting Actor honour for Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK) and none other than fiancee Aishwarya Rai presented the award to him.
The Best Supporting Actress award was given to Konkona Sen Sharma for Omkara.
While Arshad Warsi won the Best Actor in Comic Role award for Lage Raho Munnabhai, Saif Ali Khan was honoured for his role in Omkara with the Best Actor in Negative Role award.
A R Rahman won the Best Music award for Rang De Basanti. The Best Lyrics award went to Prasoon Joshi for Fanaa.
Sunidhi Chauhan won the Best Playback – Female award for Beedi from Omkara and Shaan and Kailash Kher bagged the award in the Best Playback – Male.
The Power House Award was given to veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra and Jaya Bachchan and Javed Akhtar were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award.
