on 19th May, a screening of the film was held at Cannes and the reactions were overwhelming. While the films director, Rajkumar Hirani, was present at the screening, unfortunately producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra had to return just before the screening as a result of his mother taking ill.

At the screening, the 200-seater theatre was packed to capacity with people sitting in the aisles and had 80% White audience. This included a large group of French students that clapped till the credits were finished.

The film was screened in the 'Les Cinemas du Monde' section, which screened the best of world cinema on 19th May.

On 24th May, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Eklavya will be showcased at Cannes in the same section.
