Although he first efforts at acting have proven to be anything but a success, with the critics ripping his performance to shreds.

However, Sonu Nigam is set to the past behind him and once again step into the frame in his friend Akashdeep's film Aankhon Aankhon Mein.

"We have been planning to make the movie for over two years now. And I don't want to wait anymore," says Akashdeep, who had directed the acclaimed Manoj Bajpai starrer Ghaath.

"I think Sonu is a brilliant actor. He also such a great looking person and has such style," he adds.

Aankhon Aankhon Mein will revolve around Sonu's character who is a blind singer. The film is supposed to go on floors by December at the latest. "Sonu is in the US now. We will finalise rest of the stuff like cast etc after he comes. Of course, the music will be provided by Sonu," says Akashdeep.

Additionally, this will be the first time Sonu will compose music for a film.
