Mumbai, Aug 26 (IANS) By a strange co-incidence, Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor and Dino Morea arrived in Jodhpur, just when Salman Khan did too - but for entirely different reasons. While the trio are there for an ad shoot, the macho actor was sent to jail for hunting an endangered deer."It's indeed strange," Dino told IANS. "But stranger still is the fact that Karan and I have swapped places. We're here to shoot an ad. And no, I'm not acting in it. I'm the producer while Karan plays the lead with Kareena. We've been joking non-stop about Karan getting to do something in his first starring role that I haven't done in all my years, namely play the lead with Kareena, though I've starred with Karisma in a movie."
The ad will have Karan and Kareena literally painting the culturally-rich town red.
Why Jodhpur?
"It's a paint ad, and we needed to capture the vibrant colours in a bustling colourful atmosphere," explains Dino over telephone from Jodhpur.
Apart from shooting, Karan and Kareena plan to shop and look around the town if they get the time.
Karan's associate Tarun Mansukhani, who later in the year will direct Abhishek Bachchan in a feature film for Karan Johar, is directing the ad.
"It's sad that my first foray as producer is coloured by Salman's sentence. Everywhere in Jodhpur there's talk only of that. Otherwise I'd have enjoyed my role far more as a producer," concludes Dino.
